We are a wide-ranging group of volunteers who have come together from different walks of life to work on an ultimate goal: remove racism from the Episcopal Church.  Donations comprise 100% of our income; additionally, all of our income is used to support our programs.

To offer a better understanding, we asked some of our members to answer two questions:  (1) Why did you join UBE-Arizona, and (2) why do you remain a member?  Here are some answers:

Frank S.  I was invited to join on the first Sunday of my new “snowbird” life in Phoenix.  After becoming a teacher and especially after racism training in Chicago, I feel that I need to make sure that equal opportunity is available to all people.  UBE keeps me focused and inspired toward that goal.

Helenor W.  I have worked on issues of race my whole life.  When I moved to Arizona, UBE was the path most promising to continue that work.  UBE-Arizona is making progress toward the goal I set for myself.  By working with a group, my work is amplified.
